Hongkong Post issued a special set of stamps themed “Revitalisation of Historic Buildings in Hong Kong II”, along with associated philatelic products.
Historic buildings are a valuable heritage that should be treasured. This new set of six stamps showcases revitalisation projects including Viva Blue House ($1.70), Oi! ($2.20), Green Hub ($2.90), Stone Houses Family Garden ($3.10), PMQ ($3.70), and the Mallory Street Revitalisation Project ($5). Each stamp features hot foil stamping to highlight the major functions and characteristics of the revitalised buildings, enhancing public understanding and appreciation of Hong Kong’s built heritage.
For the first time, Hongkong Post applied augmented reality (AR) technology to this stamp issue. By scanning the specially designed stamps with the “HKPostStamps” mobile app, users can view 3D models of the featured buildings, along with brief introductions and 360-degree photos. These models are superimposed on real-time backgrounds that shift from day to dusk to night, creating a brand-new immersive experience in stamp collecting.
